Handmade Christmas Ornament Round-Up

Each year my mom’s family gets together for a large Christmas bash.  My mom has 8 siblings, all married with at least 3 children… and now those children are getting married and having children.  So needless to say, there are a lot of us.  It’s loud, it’s busy and it’s loads of fun!  One of the traditions of the party is an ornament exchange.  Each person brings an ornament and sometime during the party we all gather in the great room and in order of age, pick an ornament.  It is always a blast and some of the ornaments are SO much fun, like this Ballerina Pig my daughter got at her first exchange (it was a much sought after ornament!).
This year I wasn’t finding any ornaments that really stuck out so I turned to my Facebook page to see if my readers had any cool handmade ornament ideas.  And boy did they!  So here is the round-up of ideas submitted by my readers (thanks ladies!  I so appreciate you!).

I really liked Mom 4 Real’s Monogrammed Glitter Glass Ornament:

This Lightbulb Snowman from The Artful Crafter is a great way to recycle:

These Paper Star Ornaments from Lizzie Made are classic and look fairly easy:
I really fell in love with these Santa’s Belly Ornaments from A Crafty B:

Some super cute ideas!  And of course Pinterest is a great resource too:

Hand and Foot Print Ornaments Tutorial from Homemade Grits
{My previous daycare made handprint ornaments from my children’s paws each Christmas and I cherish each of them!}

This Sand and Seashell ornament from Beach Grass Cottage’s Etsy Shop would be easy to make – and what a momento for your beach vacation!  Add a little slip of paper with the location and date the sand was taken:

I found these Superhero Ornaments by Happy Looks Good On You through Tatertots and Jello’s Christmas Link-up and had to include them because my son would die if he got these!

And lastly, these are the ornaments my daughter picked at last years exchange:

My 13 year old cousin Emily made them and I thought they were just darling!
Happy Creating! ~Kim
