a little fall fun
We are well into Fall here in Vermont and one of the things my children love most about the cooler fall weather is the fact that they get to enjoy a good cup of cocoa.  It is one thing we love to do as a family.  Rake some leaves, maybe making a pile and jumping in a few during the process, and then as a way to celebrate the fact that we completed the task we head into the house for a cup of cocoa around the kitchen table.
yummy treat
As an additional little treat, this past weekend I added a sweet treat to the mix!  The new Hostess Apple Cinnamon Donettes! Nothing says fall like apple cinnamon!  These little bite size donuts remind me of our Apple Picking trips to the orchard where they sell delicious homemade apple cinnamon donuts and let me tell you, these Hostess creations are pretty near to the real deal!  I put two donuts on a small skewer and laid them on a plate with a mug of cocoa and called the kids to the table where we sat around chatting about the fun we had raking the leaves, and laughing at the fact that they buried mom… and then left her there for 10 minutes while they ran to get Daddy so she could scare him… and yes, in case you were wondering, we did complete the leave clean-up mission!  It was a great way to share a fun family moment and I look forward to many more of them in the even colder days that lay ahead of us as Winter sweeps into town.

The day after Thanksgiving we always go to the tree farm to get a Christmas tree. I think these doughnuts would go great on the hayride while drinking our hot apple cider.

I would serve these on Thanksgiving morning or as brunch the day after, when we put up our Christmas decorations. :)

We would celebrate getting rid of all of our household sicknesses that won’t leave us alone! (If and when they ever go away, that is!) Or Thanksgiving, whichever comes first. :) These look so yummy. Thanks for the giveaway!
